I arrived in Hobart with hiking to the summit of Mt Wellington (1270m) at the top of my to-do list.
The summit offers breathtaking views of Hobart and the coast, but the weather had other plans as I found the summit engulfed in clouds.
But today’s hike and the last two weeks provide a good reminder to enjoy the process. To enjoy the hike up. To put less emphasis on the final destination and enjoy the journey more.
After a grueling solo two-week bike tour around Tasmania, I won’t remember my arrival in Hobart. But instead, the hills I massacred, the quaint seaside villages, and the kangaroos I camped with.
Are you in the middle of creating a product? Or the middle of writing a book? Or the middle of a training program?
The final destination might fall short of expectations or might be unknown at this point.
But find a way to enjoy the daily grind.
As I walked back down Mt Wellington today, I took my time.
To appreciate where I am in the world, to make small talk with fellow hikers, and to enjoy every step of the way.
Are you enjoying the process?
